Sharp Sand

Sharp Sand, otherwise referred to as washed grit, masonry sand or concreting sand is a coarse aggregate renowned for its strength and flexibility. Our Sand can be used in simple domestic landscaping or agricultural works or complex construction projects. Although it is a highly versatile aggregate, the most common uses our clients usually have for our Sharp Sand are lawn top dressings, fine concrete work or rendering.

We recommend that you use this aggregate in projects in where a more sturdy aggregate is required. For what it lacks in versatility, it makes up for in strength. Normally ranging from anywhere between 0.06mm – 2 mm in size, it is rough in nature and features a high percentage of large grain. Occasionally our Sharp Sand will contain minerals such as irons and clays, although primarily the material is made from quartz.

Sharp sand is very effective at providing thorough drainage and has the ability improve the growing capabilities of lawns and other plants thanks to the angular shape and water-permeable nature.
